Prepare for the Preschool Bible Craft

You’ll Need:

• Bible (check out this kid-friendly version!)
• watercolor paper
• water in shallow bowls
• blue or black watercolor paint
• paintbrushes
• rock salt or Kosher salt

Talk About God’s Power

Read aloud Psalm 147:4 from your Bible.

Ask: Have you every tried to count all the stars at night?

Say: There are so so many stars in the sky that it would be impossible to count them all. But God is powerful, so he can! Let’s make a starry sky craft to remind us of God’s amazing power.

Create a Starry Sky

Have each child soak a piece of watercolor paper with plain water using a paintbrush.

Then add paint to the brush and paint the paper.

Let kids sprinkle salt on their papers while still wet.

Set aside the papers to dry with the salt still on top. While you wait for the crafts to dry, ask:

• How many stars do you see in the night sky?
• Do you think it would be easy or difficult to make all those stars?
• What do all those stars say about God’s power?

When the papers dry completely, brush off the salt. The salt soaks up the paint and will leave a starry sky on the paper.
