Preschool Bible Craft: Lambs of God (John 10:27)
This great children’s craft will teach preschoolers about how Jesus takes care of us, his lambs. It will give you an opportunity to teach about John 10:27.
Prepare for the Preschool Bible Lamb Craft
You’ll Need:
- Bible (check out this kid-friendly version!)
- paper plate (1 per child)
- white cardstock
- pink cardstock
- scissors (for Leader only)
- permanent markers (for Leader only)
- glue
- cotton balls
- craft stick (1 per child)
Easy Prep:
- For each child, cut out the center of their paper plate. Make sure the hole in the center of the plate is big enough for the child’s face.
- For each child, cut two half-oval shapes from white cardstock and two slightly smaller half-oval shapes from pink cardstock. When glued together, these will be the sheep’s ears.
Make Lamb Masks
Read aloud John 10:27.
Say: In the Bible, Jesus says that we’re kind of like sheep. And Jesus says that he’s our Shepherd—someone who takes very good care of sheep.
Have kids make sheep sounds.
Say: As Jesus’ sheep, we can listen to Jesus and follow Jesus. Let’s make sheep masks to help us remember that Jesus is our caring shepherd.
- Give each child a precut paper plate.
- Write kids’ names on the backs of their plates.
- Hand out cotton balls. Help kids glue cotton balls around the entire rim of the plate.
- Hand out the pink and white cardstock shapes—each kid should get two of each color.
- Have kids glue the pink half-ovals on top of the white half-ovals. This step makes the sheep ears.
- Glue the sheep ears to the top of the mask.
- Glue a craft stick to the bottom of the mask. This will be a handle for kids to hold up their masks.
Say: Every time you wear your sheep mask, you can remember that you’re Jesus’ sheep and he is your Shepherd who loves and takes good care of you.
