In this Father’s Day outreach activity, kids will show kindness to the dads in your community with these fun tie bookmarks.
Scripture: Proverbs 3:3
You’ll need:
Father’s Day Outreach
Copy the “Treasure Ties” handout onto various colors of card stock, and cut out the tie shapes. Make arrangements with places of business or YMCA to hang up encouraging posters.
Say: Today’s dads can get bogged down by worries and stress over providing for their families and working long hours. They need a little encouragement! Read Proverbs 3:3. Let’s tie kindness around the necks of the dads in our community with a fun poster board!
Give kids markers to decorate the tie shapes with fun patterns, and have them write encouraging messages on each tie, such as, “We’re glad you’re a dad!” or “Dads are great!”
As kids work, stick pieces of Velcro on each piece of foam board, leaving room to stick a tie to each piece. Write “Dads: Please take a Bookmark Tie!” on the foam board. Have kids attach a piece of Velcro to the upper back of each tie and stick each onto the foam board.
Deliver the boards to various businesses or a local YMCA so dads around your community can take tie bookmarks and feel appreciated.
