Looking for a fun and FREE Christmas or Advent resource for families? Consider these Advent activity cards! They’ll help families celebrate the season together.
Advent is a season of expectation—we’re eagerly waiting to celebrate Jesus’ birth on Christmas Day!
These Advent activity cards will help families in your church anticipate and celebrate Jesus’ birth. Each card features a simple, super-doable Advent activity to brighten families’ Christmas season and help them enjoy festive and meaningful moments together. The FREE Advent activity cards include:
Simply print a set of Advent activity cards for each family in your church or ministry, including the first page of instructions. Be sure to adjust printer or copier settings to landscape orientation and print and front and back (on the short side). Consider printing on heavier weighted paper or cardstock.
Advent officially starts on Sunday, November 29. So, if families begin on that first Sunday of Advent, they’ll use all 27 cards. (It’s OK if families skip a day or two. They can simply choose more than one card another day!)
Here’s what families will do with their Advent activity cards.
Carefully cut out the cards, mix them up, and put them in a pile. They’re ready to go!
Each day leading up to Christmas, families will…
[ART: WOULD BE FUN ILLUSTRATE THIS SOMEHOW]
- Have someone in their family be the “Card Holder.” That person will hold the cards out in preparation for picking.
- Designate another person the “Card Picker.” That person will choose a card for your family to read that day.
- Choose a “Card Reader,” too. That person will read the card so your family can do what it says!
When families are finished with each card, they could:
- Punch a hole in the top, add an ornament hook, and hang it on a Christmas tree or garland.
- Tape it to a special spot in your home, like the fridge, a doorframe, or a wall.
- Put it in a pile, separate from the unused cards.
