Children’s Christmas Craft: J Is for Jesus Ornament
Create this cute craft Jesus ornament for yourself or with a Sunday school class. This sweet ornament features baby Jesus and a candy cane.
You’ll need:
- yellow yarn,
- thin green ribbon,
- white fabric,
- a fine-tip black marker,
- scissors
- a hot glue gun (used with adult supervision).
For each child, you’ll need:
- one candy cane
- one small wood plug (found at hardware stores).
Christmas Craft: J Is for Jesus Ornament
Have kids use a marker to draw a baby’s face on the wood plug. Help each child cut a 2-inch square piece of white fabric and fold it to form swaddling clothes. Then use the hot glue gun to secure the wooden plug to the fabric to form a baby Jesus.
Glue several small pieces of yellow yarn as hay to the arched part of the candy cane. Place the baby Jesus on top of the hay and secure with glue.
Cut and tie an 8-inch piece of green ribbon into a loop around the top of the “J.” Glue the ribbon to the candy cane for hanging on a tree. These Jesus ornaments make a great gift for parents or grandparents.
