Back-to-School Outreach: School Teacher Coasters

This back-to-school outreach will give school teachers a practical, personal gift they’ll love.

You’ll need:

  • craft foam
  • felt
  • pencils
  • scissors
  • glue
  • yarn
  • card stock
  • a hole punch
  • fine-tipped permanent markers

Back-to-School Outreach: School Teacher Coasters

Looking for a back-to-school outreach idea? This is perfect!

Have each child trace the outline of his or her hand on the craft foam with a pencil and then cut it out. Lay the craft foam hand over a piece of felt and trace the hand. Then cut out the felt outline and glue the craft foam hand to the felt hand.

Have kids write your church name and address on a piece of cardstock. On the other side, have them write this message:

Here’s a place to set your cup
While you work to fill us up
With knowledge that’ll make us smart.
You grow our minds; you touch our hearts!

Have children each sign their name on the lower portion of the craft foam palm. Punch a hole in each piece of card stock and tie it to the ring finger of each coaster with yarn. Have kids take their handy coasters to their teachers at school.
