Elementary Valentine’s Day Activity: Prayer Hearts

Give your congregation an opportunity to pray for the children in your ministry with this elementary Valentine’s Day activity: Prayer Hearts.

Elementary Valentine’s Day Activity: Prayer Hearts

Have children each print their first name on the center of a cardstock heart. Let kids decorate their hearts, then secure a small magnet on the back of each heart with glue.

Have your pastor tell the congregation that children will be at the doors with baskets. The baskets hold hearts with the names of the children in your ministry written on them. Ask people to take a heart as they leave. Encourage them to place it on their refrigerator to remind them to pray for the child for the remainder of the school year.

  1. We are going to do this in our church, but we are going to make a heart for all of the children in the congregation, the itty bitties and even the babies to be born this year. Really looking forward to this. The children in my midweek class will be making the hearts for everyone and we will hand them out on the Sunday after Valentines day!
