Nursery and Preschool Valentine Keepsake: Handprint Hearts
Help the children in your nursery or preschool class create this keepsake handprint heart to give a loved one, like their mom, dad, brother or sister, or grandparent, as a special Valentine’s Day card.
You’ll need:
- pink and purple washable paints,
- wide paintbrushes (foam brushes work well!),
- white construction paper, and
- markers.
Nursery and Preschool Valentine Keepsake: Handprint Hearts
Paint children’s palms and fingers, one hand at a time. Then press the entire hand to the paper, fingers together, and palms slightly at an angle on the page. Wash that hand while the paint has time to dry. Use the opposite color and hand to press on the other side of the first handprint, to create a heart shape.
After the prints dry, write at the top, “You will always have my heart! Happy Valentine’s Day!” and then write the child’s name. Help your kids think of people that they love. Then encourage them to give their special valentine’s day keepsake to whomever they choose.
