Memorial Day or Veterans Day Ideas: We Salute You!

It’s so important for your children’s ministry classroom to celebrate Memorial Day or Veterans Day. By remembering these holidays, you’re not only saying “thank you” to those who have served, but you’re always teaching your students about God’s sacrificial love. These four simple, but impactful ideas, are a great way for your class to show their appreciation and say thank you to our military personnel for Memorial Day or Veterans Day.

4 Simple Ideas for Memorial Day or Veterans Day

1. Thank You

Collect photos of the youngest generation in your family. Then create a collage of these little faces and write across the bottom: “Thank you for ensuring the safety of the littlest generation!”

2. Breakfast of Champions

Invite veterans in your church and family to your home for a delicious brunch in their honor.

3. Memory Box

Decorate a sturdy cardboard box that has a removable lid with military decorations. Give the box as a gift for your treasured veteran to store memorabilia.

4. My Hero

Along with your children, make a list of all the reasons you respect and honor your veteran. Mail the letter, or present it in person.

  1. Pastor Scott and Marti Camp

Can’t wait to get started. My husband is the pastor of a very small church. There was only 1 child when we came, and that was only 1 weekend a month. We started a diaper ministry where we give free diapers and wipes and our little church is thriving. Our net ministry – to begin a children’s program. Thank you offering these for free, and God bless you!
