Memorial Day or Veterans Day Ideas: We Salute You!
Here are four simple but impactful ideas for the families of kids in your ministry to show their appreciation and say “thank you” to our military personnel for Memorial Day or Veterans Day.
4 Simple Ideas for Memorial Day or Veterans Day
1. Thank You
Collect photos of the youngest generation in your family. Then create a collage of these little faces, and write across the bottom: “Thank you for ensuring the safety of the littlest generation!” Deliver your collage to a service member you know.
2. Breakfast of Champions
Invite veterans in your church (along with their families) to your home or gather at a restaurant for a delicious breakfast or brunch in their honor. Utilize church funds or volunteers to provide the food free-of-cost.
3. Memory Box
Decorate a sturdy cardboard box that has a removable lid. Use permanent markers to write “thank you” notes and encouraging messages on it. Give the box as a gift for your treasured veteran to store his or her memorabilia.
4. My Hero
Along with your children, make a list of all the reasons you respect and honor veterans. Mail the letter to a veteran you know, or present it in person.
