Mother’s Day Craft for Preschoolers: Footprints Keepsake
For this Mother’s Day craft, preschoolers can make this sweet keepsake to show love to their moms or other special women in their lives.
You’ll need:
- 8 ½ x 11-inch copies of “My Footprints” handout (1 per child)
- washable paint
- foam brushes or sponges
- ribbon
- wet wipes
- water basin
- towels
Mother’s Day Craft
Give each child a copy of the “My Footprints” handout. Help children make washable-paint footprints on their poems. While kids are seated, use foam brushes or sponges to put paint on kids’ bare feet before they carefully step onto the paper placed on the floor. Use wet wipes, water, and towels to clean and dry kids’ feet. When footprints have dried, write each child’s name on his or her poem, roll the paper like a scroll, and tie with a ribbon.
For Extra Impact
- Provide banner paper, and have each child make a set of footprints on it. As kids look at the footprints, talk about how God made each one of us different.
- Write on the banner “Our footprints follow Jesus.” Then display it on the wall.
- Read aloud Luke 18:22, and have kids tell ways we can follow Jesus.
