Need a children’s ministry activity that uses recycled supplies? Make this easy sewing card preschool craft this week! This simple children’s craft is a great opportunity for your little ones to color, sew, and work on their hand-eye coordination.

Prepare for the Preschool Craft

You’ll Need:

• Bible coloring pages (check out this one with stories from Creation to Revelation!)
• coloring supplies
• empty cereal boxes
• glue sticks
• heavy duty scissors (for adult leaders only)
• single hole punch
• yarn
• clear tape

Easy Prep

Ahead of time, cut open and flatten empty cereal boxes to use as backing for sewing cards.

Create Recycled Sewing Cards

In class, have children choose a coloring page and color it. As kids color, talk about the Bible stories you see depicted on their pages. Ask kids what they remember about the stories they’re coloring. Then…

• Have kids glue colored pictures onto the flattened cereal boxes.
• Have adult leaders cut the cardboard to fit the Bible coloring pictures.
• Kids and leaders can work together to punch holes 2 inches apart along every side of the cardboard shape.
• Give each child 1 yard of yarn. Help children tie a knot in the yarn at one end.
• Using 1/4-inch of clear tape, help children each wrap the other end of the yarn tightly. This will make it easier to thread through the hole-punched holes.

Let kids thread their yarn through the holes on their craft. As they engage with the activity, continue talking about the Bible pictures you see on their cardboard.
