Super Simple Springtime Preschool Craft: Very Squishy Butterflies
Start this springtime preschool craft off by helping preschoolers fill a resealable sandwich-size plastic bag with a lot of colorful tissue paper squares. Help the preschoolers seal the bag using the resealable strip. Then, wrap a piece of chenille wire around the round top of the clothespin to create antennae. Lastly, help preschoolers push the bag through the slats of the clothespin to form wings.
Finish up the craft by reminding kids that: When caterpillars turn into butterflies, they get wings and are free to fly! Caterpillars get a new—very different—life than butterflies. Caterpillars crawl and the ground, and butterflies can fly around in the sky. This can help us remember that because of what Jesus did for us on Easter, we can have new life with him too. Jesus’ love and forgiveness make us new!
Close in a prayer thanking Jesus for his love, forgiveness, and for making us new!
