- other items to decorate hearts (optional)
Elementary Valentine’s Day Activity: Prayer Hearts
First, have children each print their first name on the center of a cardstock heart. Ask older children to assist any younger children that need help writing their names. Then let kids decorate their hearts and secure a small magnet on the back of each heart with glue.
Have your pastor tell the congregation that children will be at the doors with baskets. Have him or her explain that the baskets hold prayer hearts with the names of the children in your ministry written on them. Ask people to take a heart as they leave. Encourage them to place it on their refrigerator to remind them to pray for the child for the remainder of the school year.
