Simple Elementary + Preteen Craft: Forget-Me-Not Easter Pots
For each child, you’ll need:
- a small terra cotta pot,
- a two-hole button,
- a chenille craft wire, and
- a package of forget-me-not seeds.
To create the Easter pots, you’ll also need:
- tempera paints,
- paintbrushes,
- craft foam,
- scissors,
- glitter,
- glue, and
- tissue paper.
Have kids each paint the outside of a terra cotta pot with tempera paint. Set the pots aside to dry. Then have kids each cut out a 3×5-inch cross from craft foam and decorate its edges with glitter. Glue the crosses to the outer rim of the dry terra cotta pots. Give kids each a button and have them thread a chenille craft wire through the button and create a bow. Glue a button to the center of each cross. Arrange tissue paper inside the pots, and place a packet of seeds in each center. Have kids give their Forget-Me-Not Pots as they share the events of Easter with a friend, family member, or neighbor.
