Elementary Easter Craft: Blooming Flower Crowns

These blooming flower crowns help kids remember the crown of thorns Jesus wore on the cross and the new life we have in his resurrection.

You’ll need:

  • Green paper plates,
  • construction paper,
  • scissors, and
  • glue.

Making Your Easter Blooming Flower Crowns

To make Easter blooming flower crowns have kids first cut eight flower shapes from construction paper. If you have younger kids in your class, then consider having stencils they can trace or having them pair up with older kids. If you’re trying to do this craft with really young children, you could also provide precut flower shapers.

Next, cut a slit in the center of each paper plate and then cut it in triangle slices like a pie. Then have kids bend the triangle shapes up to form leaves. Lastly, glue the flowers onto the tips of the leaves.

Have kids talk about how their flower crowns are like and unlike the crown of thorns Jesus wore on the cross. Use this time to read through the Easter story from the Bible.

We are a small church. I have been using many of your lessons for approximately three years. Thank you so much for sharing these wonderful lessons and ideas. Your lessons have blest so many young hearts. Your lessons show teachers how your heart is filled with God’s love and tenderness for getting our children off to knowing and loving God at a young age. Thank you so much. May God bless you as you continue your ministry to children.
