Children’s Ministry Service Project Idea: Toy and Game Drive

Bring light into other kids’ lives with a toy and game drive sponsored by your ministry. It’s much simpler than you think!

Children’s Ministry Service Project Idea: Toy and Game Drive

Often the only entertainment found in children’s wards and waiting rooms of hospitals is outdated magazines, worn board games, and tattered books-not exactly the most uplifting items for kids who need cheer as they battle debilitating injuries and diseases. Your kids can bring light into these kids’ lives with a toy and game drive sponsored by your ministry.

Connect with your local hospital to learn its specific needs. Then invite your entire church to contribute new or gently used toys, board games, or books according to specific needs. You can also enlist the help of toy stores-many will be happy to contribute merchandise to the drive.

Let your kids put a sticker on each donated item that reads, “We pray you’ll feel better soon. Well wishes from the kids at your church name.” Kids can help deliver the donations to see firsthand the faces of sick and injured kids light up with excitement and appreciation.
