Seasonal: Corn Husking

Children's Ministry Magazine

Object Lesson: Kids will enjoy this race to help them remember that it's what's on the inside that counts.

Stuff: Unhusked corn and a Bible.

Place corn on a table and tell kids that they'll have one minute to husk as many ears of corn as they can. Afterward, discuss how an unhusked ear of corn is like or unlike who we are on the outside.

Read aloud 1 Samuel 16:7. Have kids discuss the person that God sees. Remind kids that we don't need to hide from God because he knows our hearts. Conclude the activity by boiling the corn and eating it with salt and butter.
