Elementary and Preteen Bible Game: Water Balloon Relay

If kids don’t get along well in this water balloon relay, they’ll find themselves soaked.

Scripture: 1 Thessalonians 5:11

You’ll Need:

  • Water balloons,
  • traffic cones, and
  • a Bible

Elementary and Preteen Bible Game: Water Balloon Relay

Form teams of six to 10 kids. Have team members stand behind a line and form pairs within their teams. Set a cone about 20 feet away from each team’s line, and set a bucket of water balloons next to each team. Have partners stand back to back with a water balloon between them. Pairs run down to their team’s cone and back without dropping or breaking the water balloon. If the water balloon breaks during the relay, kids start over with a new balloon. Keep playing until all the kids have crossed the line or you’re out of balloons.

Once the game is over, ask these questions to the kids:

  • How did you have to work together in this game?
  • What are ways you work with others to help them do a good job?

Read aloud the Scripture.

This activity is part of the camp idea “Camp Can-Do“.
