Payback on Poplar Lane

Here’s the scoop on the latest Keeping Current book review for September and October of 2018: Payback on Poplar Lane.

The Scoop on This Book

Payback on Poplar Lane tells the fictional story of two sixth graders who compete to become their block’s leading entrepreneur. This book instantly became one of the most buzzed-about kid’s books published in 2018 because of its humor, lessons of friendship and even some business tips for kids.

Our Take

Author Margaret Mincks uses humor as she promotes positive messages about family and personal development throughout the story. This is a great find for preteens because most are just beginning to learn about self-awareness and may even be exploring their own opportunities to be little entrepreneurs. This book is a good encouragement for this stage of life.
