Goosebumps: Haunted Halloween

The Scoop

Goosebumps’ marionette villain, Slappy, is back this Halloween (October 12, to be exact). In this kids’ comedy adventure, based on R.L. Stine’s bestselling series, Slappy plans to wreak more havoc on a town, as he’s escaped from the pages of the book. It follows the first Goosebumps movie, released in 2015, and expects a PG rating for mild violence, profanity, and substance use.

Our Take

Wildly popular among, the Goosebumps series is one that often captures even those kids least interested in reading. Although considered a family movie and kid-friendly, expect this second movie in the series to ride the line between questionable content and kid-friendly when it comes to jokes and social references. Also, keep in mind this movie received a horror film categorization; so more sensitive kids might find it to be a bit too scary.
