Apple’s video editing app Clips, which was released in 2017, allows users to stitch together photos and videos. Once segments are created, users can dictate text and add emojis and other filters. Time magazine named it number 15 on its list of the top 25 best iPhone and Android apps of 2017 because of the app’s intelligent caption-adding performance when compared to similar apps such as Instagram.
Our Take on Clips
Kids of all ages enjoy making videos of themselves, and Clips is a fun addition to their list of video editing apps. The difference with this app is that it’s not as integrally tied into social media as apps like Instagram are. Because preteens are generally very social, they’ll probably want to share the videos they make regardless of the platform they were made on. But the app itself is a clean-fun win. Just be mindful of where kids are sharing their clips.
