Here’s your latest Keeping Current music review for May and June of 2018: Camila Cabello.
As one of 2017’s biggest breakthrough artists, pop music singer-songwriter Camila Cabello is on a roll. Her song, “Havana,” hit #1 on Billboard’s Hot 100 less than a year after she announced her departure from the band Fifth Harmony. She also began her first headlining tour Never Be the Same in April of 2018. The 21-year-old Cuban/Mexican made the news in January 2018 when she spoke at the U.S. Grammy Awards about growing up as an immigrant.
Her album, Camila, released in early 2018 and is primarily about romantic relationships and is often sexual in nature. While much of the content is implied rather than explicit, preteens may or may not pick up on everything Camila Cabello sings about. Parents should definitely review Camila if their kids want to listen to the album.
