Burden Prayer

shouldersHelp kids experience the burden of sin, struggles,
or trials by having them stand in a circle with their hands on the
shoulders of the person next to them. Before you pray, have kids
gradually press down with their hands on their neighbors’
shoulders.

Then thank Jesus for dying on the cross to lift our burdens, and
have kids gradually lighten the pressure on one another’s
shoulders.

After the prayer, have kids discuss how the hands on their
shoulders were like or unlike their daily burdens. In closing, read
aloud 1 Peter 5:7: “Give all your worries and cares to God, for he
cares about you.”
