When I moved to Colorado to start working at Group, I left behind a church I had worked at for almost six years. Recently I was able to make a trip back to visit and I brought with me some goodies from Group for everyone. My replacement, Skylar, is an amazing young man of God. I worked with his family at the church before, and he had always stepped up whenever we needed volunteers…

As parents, volunteers, church and ministry leaders, we cannot afford to ignore the times in which we live. I’m not talking about living in fear, or an out-of-balance distrust of people. I am talking about being aware of certain realities and the responsibility we have to protect those who need protecting.

I believe mission trips are a great way to get kids growing spiritually. Research shows that kids who have a strong sense of mission outperform those who don’t. I know I wish I had had more missions opportunities when I was a kid. Now that I work with kids, I try to provide them with as much missions experience as I can, and I try to encourage them to develop servants’ hearts as they show God’s love to others…
