Wild Day Challenge

Our preteen ministry challenges kids to invite friends who
aren’t connected to a church to an all-day event hosted during a
day when school’s on a teacher break day (which happens quarterly).
Preteens in our ministry receive a discount for themselves and
their friends when they supply the names and contact information of
the kids they’re inviting to the event. This gives our ministry the
opportunity to send a special invitation directly to the kids, as
well as follow up after the event.

The day of the event, we rent inflatables such as bounce houses
and slides, provide lunch, and spend the afternoon playing games
and showing a movie on the big screen in our worship center. We end
the day with small groups, allowing leaders and kids time to get to
know each other. We have small group leaders follow up with kids
within a week to invite them to join their small group or to return
for our next preteen activity or event.
