Have kids create a bookworm pencil-topper friend to keep them
company as they do their homework.

For each child, you’ll need one pipe cleaner, one 1-inch and two
3/4-inch pompoms, two wiggle eyes, felt scraps, pencil, scissors,
and glue.

Tell kids to form a small loop at one end of the pipe cleaner
and bend it down at a 45-degree angle. Glue the large pompom to the
top of the loop to make the head. Glue the smaller pompoms to the
head to complete the worm’s body. Glue on eyes and add other
features cut from felt. Wind the other end of the pipe cleaner
tightly around the eraser end of the pencil.

You’re ready to hit the books!
