Seasonal: Corn Husking

Object Lesson: Kids will enjoy this race to
help them remember that it’s what’s on the inside that counts.

Stuff: Unhusked corn and a Bible.

Place corn on a table and tell kids that they’ll have one minute
to husk as many ears of corn as they can. Afterward, discuss how an
unhusked ear of corn is like or unlike who we are on the

Read aloud 1 Samuel 16:7. Have kids discuss the person
that God sees. Remind kids that we don’t need to hide from God
because he knows our hearts. Conclude the activity by boiling the
corn and eating it with salt and butter.
