Pair third- and fourth-graders with preschoolers who’ll enter
elementary ministry next fall. Encourage older kids to regularly
contact their buddies during the week, as well as visit them in
their current classrooms. Create ways for older kids to connect
with their buddies, such as a play-and-lunch date at a park or
postcards for older kids to send out. Older kids can find their
buddies during large group or in central gatherings for families
after class. Seeing a familiar face helps ease younger kids’
ministry transitions, while older kids experience the gift of being
an encourager.
