Piece It Together

This game is a great conversation heart-starter!

Use butcher paper to make two large hearts that are exactly the
same size and shape. Hang one heart on the wall. Cut the other into
several odd shapes to make a puzzle; make the pieces large and
distinct so it’s possible to put the heart back together. Cut one
or two pieces per child, and apply a piece of tape to the back of
each piece.

Then have kids attempt to put the puzzle together blindfolded, one
piece at a time. Allow kids to help guide each other.

After the experience, have kids discuss whether the game was like
or unlike how it can be to love others in life. Then explain that
Jesus told us how to love in the Bible. Read aloud John 15:12 and
Matthew 5:43-47. Have kids discuss specific ways they can love
others just as Jesus commanded.
