Mother’s Day Gift Idea: Personalized Puzzles

Print Friendly

When it comes to Mother’s Day and Father’s Day, a personalized gift with a bit of whimsy is a great option for preteens. You can help them create a puzzle out of a digital print with these simple steps.

Step One: Take a digital photo of each preteen and print out a copy on an 8 ½ x 11 sheet of paper.

Step Two: Brush a thin layer of Mod Podge or glue onto the back of the photo and mount it to a piece of poster board. Trim the edges.

Step Three: Print a puzzle template from the web and adhere it to the poster board side of the photo. Here’s a free download of a puzzle template.

Step Four: Have each person cut out the pieces by following the lines on the puzzle template. Once finished, have kids decorate an envelope for the puzzle pieces. Have them write “I’d go to pieces without you” on the envelope, and sign it. Then encourage kids to give their puzzle as a Mother’s Day or Father’s Day gift.
