To minister to families with new babies, we developed the Little
Lambs Ministry. This provided families an introduction to our
nursery so they'd feel comfortable bringing their babies to
church.
When a new baby is born, volunteers from our committee visit the
family with gifts and kind words once a week for the first four
weeks. The first week the visit includes gifts of a stuffed lamb
and a blank journal. The second week we give a baby calendar. The
third week we give a preschool Bible, and with the last visit we
give a gift certificate to a local restaurant for the parents. With
each visit we encourage the new parents and let them know our
church is a warm, caring place where their new baby will be
loved.
