children do not understand God’s grace. This short Bible lesson is
designed to help children recognize the healing power of

Wrap masking tape around a rock and write “sin” on it. Have
children take turns holding the “sin” rock. Then have all the other

Ask: What happened when we hid the sin rock?

Read aloud Numbers 32:23. *Ask: What does this verse
mean? Have you ever had a sin discovered even though you tried to
hide it? What happened? Does God want us to try to hide our sins?
What does God want us to do when we’ve sinned?

Have a child read aloud 1 John 1:9 while you use a marker to blot out
the word “sin” on the rock. Lead children in a prayer of thanks for
God’s great forgiveness through Jesus Christ.
