Heart Pretzels Snacks

Children's Ministry Magazine

Here's a delicious way to send Valentine's Day greetings from your children's ministry kids to visitors.

From "Age Level Insights 3 to 5" featured in the January/February 2009 issue of Children's Ministry magazine...

Here's a delicious way to send Valentine's Day greetings from your children's ministry to visitors. You'll need one thawed, uncooked dinner roll for each child, greased baking sheets, cinnamon-sugar mixture, brown paper lunch bags, markers, and craft materials. Have children wash their hands. Give each child a thawed roll. Have children roll the dough into a long, snakelike piece, place the dough on a greased baking sheet, and form a heart. Sprinkle the hearts with the cinnamon-sugar mixture. Bake until golden brown, using the temperature suggested on the package.

While the pretzels bake, have children decorate the lunch bags. Once the pretzels have cooled, have children place a pretzel in each bag.

Give the pretzels to the people responsible for welcoming visitors and for visitation. This gift is a tasty reminder of the important role your children's ministry plays in the life of your church.
