Last summer we offered two VBS events back-to-back. We hosted
regular VBS during the day and then a similar, family-centered
program in the evenings. These two separate events let different
kids and families participate -- and they loved having a
choice!
It took preplanning and a few more volunteers, but the payoff
was immense. More fathers and working parents participated in the
evenings. People loved the family friendly aspect in the evening.
And parents enjoyed taking on leadership roles with their kids on
this spiritual journey.
