Just over 10 years ago, Bishop W.C. Martin and his wife Donna issued a unique challenge to their congregation of 200: Find a way to adopt children in foster care who've never known the love of a family. Today, 25 families have adopted 73 children and given them loving homes and a bright future. This ministry caught the attention of national news bureaus as well as Oprah and others. Since 1969, Father Shay Cullen and his team have boldly gone into the dungeon-like prisons in the Philippines and rescued the street children imprisoned there, who are often victims of child trafficking and abuse. Father Cullen's work has resulted in new beginnings for thousands of children who otherwise would have been lost to the streets.
